National ornament belt for Latvia

Children and Youth Centre “Altona” organizes creative workshops (Monday – Thursday 5 pm) to make for the CYC “Altona” a big size woven national ornament belt on 122m long fabric as dedication to 100th anniversary of Latvia. Target group: citizens of Riga city.

Celebration of historical pipe organs

The goal of the Festival of Historic Pipe Organs is to mainstream and draw attention to the Latvian historic pipe organs. Within the framework of the festival both the Latvian residents and foreign guests will have an opportunity to travel around all the Latvian regions, enjoy historic instruments.

We are 2 travelers and we have just returned from our World Trip carried out mainly by hitchhiking- we travelled through 64 countries in 5 continents for 17 months. During this trip we have introduced countless nations with Latvia and now we are sharing this experience in honor of Latvias birthday.

12 Characters from the Prado Collection

The exhibition 12 Characters from the Prado Collection – twelve masterpieces by world famous artists which have brought joy to millions of viewers over the centuries at Spain’s largest museum, the PRADO, will be on show for the first time in the Baltic region. This exhibition is a special present to Latvia’s Centenary from patrons Boris and Ināra Teterev.

Compatriot Days in Gulbene 2017

Compatriot Days in Gulbene will gather and join compatriots and former locals from far and near – those who live abroad at the moment and those who have found their residence place in other cities and towns of Latvia. It will be a gathering full of music, art, sports, culture as well as common dancing and singing.

The May 4th White Tablecloth Celebrations

On May 4, Latvia's Independence Restoration Day, Latvians across the world are invited to participate in the White Tablecloth Celebration to commemorate what was a new beginning for Latvia in 1990 as the country adopted a declaration to restore its independence from the Soviet Union.
