The Big Clean-up (Lielā talka)

The Big Clean-up takes place around Latvia every year. Each of Latvia's regions and cities has a designated Big Clean-up coordinator, who registers the activities planned by local volunteers and organises garbage collection from officially registered Big Clean-up sites.

100 Bookmarks for Latvia - An Exhibition of Children's Art

This exhibition is the conclusion of the graphic arts competition "Mana grāmatzīme" (My bookmark). The goal of the competition was to stimulate the children attending Latvian art schools to explore their family history, Latvian art history and classical graphic techniques, and to increase their sense of belonging to their families, schools and homeland.

Illuminate Latvia! - A Solstice Bonfire Event

As the campaign Aplido, apceļo, apmīļo Latviju (Fly over, travel throughand hug our Latvia) comes to a close, a new tourist route - 1836 km in length - winds around the Latvian border. On 21st of June people from near and far are invited to light a solstice bonfire along this route, symbolically illuminating the Latvian border.
