A concert-exhibition “Servant. Blumbergs. Kamer…” will be organised on 23rd and 24th May, 7 pm at the exhibition hall “Rigas makslas telpa” in honour of the great Latvian artist Ilmars Blumbergs (1943-2016).
Surrounded by Blumbergs’ art, Youth Choir “Kamer…” will premiere seven compositions by loyal friends of the choir, composers Georgs Pelecis, Eriks Esenvalds, Peteris Vasks, Juris Karlsons, Gabriel Jackson, Dobrinka Tabakova, and Vytautas Miskinis. All of the compositions have been inspired by Blumbergs’ life and art.
Ilmars Blumbergs has a prominent and permanent role in both Latvian and international art scene and has been a long lasting collaborator of the choir and is the author of the visual identity of “Kamer…”.
Stage director Viesturs Kairiss, choreographer Elina Lutce and light designer Egils Kupcs will help the choir to inhabit the performance space of the exhibition.
