The London Book Fair: Baltics cultural programme writters revealed

This year’s London Book Fair author delegation brings twelve prominent and engaging writers from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, representing the very best of contemporary literature.

#IAMINTROVERT T-shirts with quotes from Latvian literature

The “Latvian Literature” platform, in collaboration with actress and designer Madara Botmane, has created a line of #iamintrovert T-shirts with literary quotes from ten Latvian authors in English. The unique collection was designed as part of the publicity campaign promoting Latvia's participation in the London Book Fair 2018.

In 2018, as the Baltic states will be celebrating their centenaries, Lithuania and Estonia will be joining Latvia at the London Book Fair as Market Focus countries.

Writer Nora Ikstena announced to be author of the day at the London Book Fair

Several authors from the Baltic states where chosen to be Authors of the Day for the London Book Fair – among them the renowned Latvian writer Nora Ikstena.

Translations of Latvian fiction to be published in the UK

19th–22nd September, Riga is welcoming British publishers. During the visit, eight representatives of British publishing companies will be learning more about the Latvian literature and publishing industry, meeting local publishers to discuss opportunities for publishing works of Latvian authors in the UK, and visiting the Jelgava printing house.

Latvian and British poets translate each other's works

11th – 17th September, Riga is hosting now the third international poetry translation workshop where nine poets will come together from Latvia and Great Britain to translate each other's poems.
