Estonian Voices and Latvian Voices

In honour of the centenaries of the two neighbouring countries Latvia and Estonia, two notable professional a cappella vocal groups are joining forces in a single concert.

Russian composer Dmitri Kourliandski (Дмитрий Курляндский) – recipient of the prestigious Gaudeamus International Composers Award and co-founder of the Structural Resistance (StRes) group of composers – will oversee the world premiere of his third string quartet „Dolce stil nuovo”.

A concert-exhibition “Servant. Blumbergs. Kamer…” will be organised at the exhibition hall “Rigas makslas telpa” in honour of the great Latvian artist Ilmars Blumbergs. Surrounded by Blumbergs’ art, Youth Choir “Kamer…” will premiere seven specially commissioned compositions for the event.

Tickets for the 2018 Latvian Song and Dance Festival, taking place June 30 to July 8, are to go on sale on March 3 at 11 a.m. Latvian time, organizers say.
